Mindfulness Training Courses

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the development of the ability to pay deliberate attention to our experience from moment to moment, to what is going on in our mind, body and day to day life and doing this without judgement.

Many of us often find ourselves being completely overwhelmed by our thoughts, feelings and emotions and we can become trapped in a vicious circle of negative states. Whatever you suffer from whether it is stress, anxiety, depression or any other difficult psychological problem, or whether you are faced with physical pain or illness, mindfulness can be a helpful way of improving your quality of life.

Mindfulness is an integration of ancient understandings and current therapeutic approaches (in particular CBT) and Neuro-psychology. It is intended to help in pragmatic, practical ways with daily and ongoing life challenges, physical and psychological health problems.

Becoming more aware of our thoughts, feelings and sensations may not sound like an obviously helpful thing to do, however learning to do this in a way that suspends judgement and self criticism can have surprising results. Many people report finding inner strengths and resources that help them make wise decisions about their health and life in general. I sometimes integrate Mindfulness in counselling sessions. I also provide training and courses in Mindfulness.

I have had a personal mindfulness practise for over 10 years, I hold a PG Certificate in Mindfulness and CBT and have received training at the Centre for Mindfulness Practise and Research, Bangor University. My Teacher Training is ongoing at Breathworks - www.breathworks-mindfulness.org.uk
